Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 20, 2026

1. Introduction

Small Text Generator (the "Site") is a free tool that converts ordinary letters into Unicode styles such as small caps, superscript, subscript, and zalgo. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Site does and does not collect, and it describes the practices we follow so you can use the tool with confidence.

The most important fact is at the top: the Site is a browser-based tool. Every conversion happens locally on your device using JavaScript. The text you type, the styles you generate, and the results you copy never travel over the network to us. If you understand that one sentence, you already understand the core of this policy.

This policy applies to all pages and tools on the Site, including the homepage converter and the related text tools. Where a section mentions a practice that depends on a specific feature, the description below makes that clear. If anything here is unclear, contact us at the address in Section 10 and we will explain it in plain language.

By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of it, please stop using the Site or contact us with your questions.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect the text you enter, the text you generate, or anything you copy from the results. There is no account system, no registration, and no profile of any kind. We cannot see what you typed, we cannot retrieve it later, and we have no way to associate a conversion with a person.

Because processing is entirely client-side, your input and output are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to, stored on, or transmitted through our servers. We intentionally built the tool this way so that privacy is a property of the design, not a promise that depends on our discipline.

This also means there is nothing for you to delete, export, or transfer when you finish using the tool. Closing the tab ends the session completely. The text you converted exists only in your browser until you close it, just like text in any other local application.

3. Local Storage

The Site uses your browser's localStorage to save one preference: your theme choice (light or dark). This setting is stored only on your device, in your own browser, and is used so the Site can restore your theme on your next visit. It is not sent to us, it is not used for tracking, and it contains no text you have converted.

You can remove this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data or by using your browser's developer tools to clear localStorage for this domain. Doing so will not break the tool — the only effect is that the Site will return to following your system's light or dark preference.

4. Usage Data

Like most websites, the Site is served through hosting and content delivery infrastructure, and that infrastructure may automatically record routine, technical information in standard server logs. This can include your IP address, the type of browser and device you used, the pages you visited, the date and time of your visit, the referring page, and similar diagnostic information.

This kind of usage data is generated by the ordinary operation of any website and is used for security, reliability, and basic operational purposes such as detecting errors and preventing abuse. It does not include the text you convert, because that text never leaves your browser. We do not use this data to build profiles of individual visitors.

Log records are kept only as long as they are needed for the operational purposes described above, and they are then deleted or made anonymous. We may also review aggregate, non-identifying statistics to understand general traffic patterns, such as which pages are visited most often, so we can decide what to improve. Those statistics describe the Site, not individual people.

5. Cookies

The Site does not use tracking cookies. We do not set cookies to follow you across websites, and we do not use advertising or analytics cookies to profile your behavior.

[Placeholder: if the Site adds any analytics, advertising, or third-party cookies before launch, list the specific cookies, their purpose, and how users can control them here.]

The Site's theme preference is saved in localStorage rather than in a cookie. You can control and clear both cookies and localStorage through your browser settings at any time.

If your browser or a browser extension adds cookies on this domain for its own purposes, those cookies are set by your browser, not by the Site. We do not read them and do not control how they behave. Most browsers let you review the cookies stored for any website and delete them individually.

6. Third-Party Services

The Site is hosted and delivered with the help of infrastructure providers. These providers may process the routine usage data described in Section 4 as part of operating the Site.

[Placeholder: update with your actual providers before launch, for example: "We use [hosting provider] for hosting and [CDN provider] for content delivery. Their privacy practices are available at [links]."]

The Site does not currently integrate advertising networks, analytics platforms, or other third-party services that receive your text or personal information. If that changes, this section will be updated to name each provider and explain what they receive.

We will keep this section current. Before any third-party service that can access personal information is added, this policy will be updated first, and the "Last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect the change.

7. Children's Privacy

The Site is a general-purpose text tool and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and because the tool processes text entirely in the browser, we do not collect children's text or personal data in the first place.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through the Site, please contact us using the details in Section 10, and we will take reasonable steps to delete it and address the matter.

We encourage parents and guardians to supervise children's internet use and to review their browser's privacy settings. Because the Site does not require an account and does not collect text input, there is no profile or history tied to a child on our side.

8. Your Rights

Because the Site stores almost nothing about you, exercising your privacy rights is mostly about controlling your own device:

  • Clear your theme preference: remove localStorage for this site through your browser settings, and the Site will follow your system theme again.
  • Disable JavaScript: the converter needs JavaScript to transform text, but disabling it in your browser prevents the client-side script from running and leaves no data behind.
  • Use private browsing: visiting the Site in a private or incognito window keeps the theme preference from persisting after you close the window.
  • Request information or deletion: if you believe we hold any personal information about you, contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time, confirm what we hold, and delete it on request where applicable.

Where data protection laws give you additional rights — such as access, correction, restriction, or portability — you can exercise them by contacting us. Since the Site has no account system, most of these rights are satisfied automatically by the fact that your text never leaves your browser.

To make a request, simply email the address in Section 10 and describe what you would like us to do. We will confirm receipt, respond within a reasonable time, and, where a request applies to data we actually hold, carry it out or explain why we cannot. We will never charge a fee for a reasonable privacy request.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Site, the law, or our practices. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be described in the updated policy itself.

If a change affects how we handle information, we will make the revised policy prominent on the Site before it takes effect. Your continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy, so we encourage you to review this page occasionally.

Older versions of this policy are not retained on the Site, but we can answer questions about how the policy has evolved if you contact us. We will not apply material changes retroactively in a way that reduces your rights without notice.

10. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, the data the Site stores, or your privacy rights, please contact us at hello@smoltextgen.com. We will do our best to answer clearly and promptly.
